Lead Engineer at Watchity

Francesc Pinyol Margalef has worked in a variety of roles since 1993. Francesc began their career as a Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher at EPFL. In 2000, they were an Engineer at iSOCO Intelligent Software Components, where they worked on a WAP application and wrote documentation about WAP gateways. Francesc then worked as an Engineer at Inspecta Vision in 2002, where they worked on classification techniques for natural cork stoppers on wine bottles and wrote a viability report for the analysis and colour detection in cork disks for stoppers. From 2006 to 2012, they worked at La Salle BCN - Universitat Ramon Llull as a Researcher and Scientific Advisor. During this time, they participated in 6th framework European projects and several national projects. Francesc also worked as a Technical Lead at dualStream and Medialab Barcelona from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they began working as a Lead Engineer at Watchity, where they were responsible for the definition of general architecture of a cloud-base live video streaming platform and participated in the development of several modules. Francesc used Scrum and Git (GitLab) as methods and tools.

Francesc Pinyol Margalef began their educational career in 1975 at La Salle Reus, where they earned their EGB and BUP. In 1986, they attended Institut Gabriel Ferrater - Reus, where they earned their COU certification. From 1987 to 1992, they attended UPC - ETSETB TelecomBCN and earned an Engineer's degree in Telecommunications Engineering. Finally, from 1992 to 1999, they attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and earned a PhD in Communications Engineering.
