Otene Reweti has extensive experience in various roles focused on cultural advisory and community engagement. Currently serving as Pou Hononga at Watercare Services Limited since December 2021 and Minita-A-Iwi at Te Pihopatanga o Te Tai Tokerau since September 2017, Otene has previously held positions such as Cultural Advisor at Auckland City Mission and Matanga Tikanga me Te Reo Maori at Auckland Council. Otene's career also includes significant roles in Maori outcomes advisory and relationship management across several organizations, including the Ministry of Fisheries and Pipalyatjara Community Inc. Otene's professional journey began with a military background as a Petty Officer Electrician in the Royal New Zealand Navy, complemented by educational qualifications from Te Kareti Paipera O Aotearoa and Kamo High School.
