Matt Orlins is a seasoned government relations professional currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Government Relations at Waterford.org since May 2023. Previously, Matt held key roles at The Literacy Lab, including Chief External Relations Officer and Director of Government Relations, where responsibilities encompassed developing a comprehensive government relations strategy across multiple states, securing bipartisan support for funding, and establishing significant partnerships to enhance literacy outcomes. Matt's extensive experience extends to legislative counsel and public affairs roles across various organizations, including the District of Columbia, where contributions involved managing policy portfolios, drafting legislation, and representing agencies in public and media engagements. Matt's educational background includes a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Denison University.
