Derek Nicol

Derek Nicol is an experienced Asset Maintenance Specialist currently employed at Waterline since February 2024. Previously, Derek held significant roles in the electrical and instrumentation field, including Electrical & Instrumentation Lead at DIALOG Fitzroy Ltd from August 2019 to February 2024, where responsibilities encompassed estimating, client liaison, design, drafting, and QA/QC for E&I disciplines across Australia. Prior to that position, Derek served as Instrument and Digital Systems Lead for the Vopak B4A Terminal Expansion and E & I Leading Hand at Fitzroy Engineering Group, managing project execution and maintenance. Earlier roles include E&I / HV Technician at Powertech, Electrical / Fixed Plant Supervisor at Terramin Australia Limited, and Instrument Electrical Site Supervisor at Downer, showcasing a diverse skill set in various aspects of electrical and instrumentation engineering. Derek's education includes an Advanced Diploma in Engineering and a Diploma of Management from ATEC, along with qualifications in Electrical Fitting and Process Instrumentation from TAFE Queensland.
