Kirsten Hand has over 20 years of work experience, starting in 1998 at IBM. Kirsten worked as a Financial Analyst at IBM, where they quickly gained responsibility and was promoted to Contract Financial Analyst, overseeing a $50M contract. Kirsten also worked as a Consolidation Analyst, handling headquarter planning and consolidation of business unit information. Kirsten then moved on to Bell Canada, where they served as an Associate Director, managing the general ledger system and the Accounts Payable department. Kirsten later integrated a subsidiary's accounting ledger into the existing processes and system. Kirsten's most recent role was as the Director of Finance and Assets at the Waterloo Regional Police Service. Prior to that, they worked as the Financial Services Manager at the Guelph Police Service.

Kirsten Hand completed their education, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Financial and Economic Studies at Western University from 1994 to 1997. Kirsten then pursued a Diploma in Accounting at Wilfrid Laurier University from 1997 to 1998. Kirsten further obtained the CPA, CMA certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) in August 2000.
