Chief Scientist at Waterplan

Jay Famiglietti is the current Chief Scientist at Waterplan. Jay was previously employed at the University of Saskatchewan, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, University of California, Irvine, and The University of Texas at Austin. Jay has been working in the field of earth science for over 25 years and has made many contributions to their field through their research and teaching. Jay is an expert in the areas of water resources, drought, and climate change, and has authored or co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Jay is a highly respected scientist and their work has helped to improve our understanding of the Earth's water cycle and the impact of human activity on the environment.

Jay Famiglietti began their educational career by earning a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Tufts University. Jay then attended the University of Arizona to earn a Master of Science in Hydrology and Water Resources. After that, they attended Princeton University to earn a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering and Operations Research.

They are on a team with Nicolas Wertheimer - Co-Founder & CSO, Olivia Cesio - Co-Founder & COO, and Matias Comercio - Co-Founder & CPO. Their manager is Jose Ignacio Galindo, Co-Founder & CEO.
