Jan Wanink

Jan Wanink is an experienced ecologist and advisor, currently serving as Advisor for Agriculture and Water Quality at the Regional Water Authority - Waterschap Noorderzijlvest since June 2021, while also holding the position of Ecologist at Waterschap Noorderzijlvest since February 2016. Prior roles include various ecologist positions at Koeman en Bijkerk bv and a long-term engagement as a guest researcher and postdoc at Leiden University, focusing on the disturbed ecosystems of Lake Victoria. Wanink's academic credentials include a PhD in Tropical Aquatic Ecology from Leiden University and an MSc in Animal Ecology and Ethology from the University of Groningen, alongside extensive experience in environmental research and consultancy spanning several decades.
