Ishaan Parikh has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Ishaan is currently working as a Software Engineer at Watershed, starting in March 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Robinhood as a Senior Software Engineer from September 2019 to March 2022. Alongside their professional roles, Ishaan founded a program called Student-Initiated Courses (STICs) at UMD, allowing students to design, develop, and teach their own courses from January 2017 to May 2019. Ishaan also gained valuable experience through internships at Facebook, Indiegogo, and LendUp, where they worked on software engineering projects and developed various mobile and backend applications. Additionally, Ishaan was selected as an Engineering Fellow at Kleiner Perkins, attending talks and events to learn about the startup space. Earlier in their career, they served as the President of Terrapin Hackers at UMD, where they created a supportive environment for hackers and organized hacktorials and mentorship initiatives. Furthermore, Ishaan worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Autonomy, Robotics, and Cognition Laboratory of the University of Maryland College Park, utilizing their skills in Point Cloud Library, ROS, and PCL for research projects. Lastly, they gained research experience at UCSF, focusing on exploring new treatments for malignant melanoma as a Summer Student Intern in the Department of Radiology.
Ishaan Parikh completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, from the year 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their High School education at Montgomery Blair High School from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Ishaan has obtained certifications in Server-side Development with NodeJS, Practical Machine Learning, and Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in December 2016, August 2016, and July 2016 respectively.
