Saniya Ali, MS, PhD has a wealth of experience in the medical and technology fields. Saniya began their career in 2012 as a Venture Fellow for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship. In the same year, they also worked as a Product Development Engineer & Business Development for RetroJect Inc. In 2014, they joined BD as a Research and Development Engineer, where they established a culture of innovation and led cross-functional teams to design and manage projects. In 2015, they moved to LivaNova as a Product Development & Marketing Manager, where they represented the voice of the customer and collaborated with internal and external partners. In 2017, they joined Abbott as a Product Manager and managed the commercial marketing of the cardiac electrophysiology product portfolio. In 2019, they were recruited as a Biodesign Innovation Fellow at Stanford University, where they identified an unmet clinical need in the vascular surgery space and won $15k funding from the Stanford BASES business pitch competition. In 2020, they joined Watershed Therapeutics as Chief Technology Officer, Dexcom as a Medical Innovation Consultant, and Life Science Angels as an Investment Fellow. Additionally, they were a Strategic Innovation and Development Consultant for Lansinoh Laboratories Inc.

Saniya Ali obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from Texas A&M University. Saniya then went on to complete their Master of Science degree in Nanotechnology, Glucose Biosensors, Finite Element Analysis and Computation from the same university. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomaterials, Tissue engineering, and Regenerative Medicine from Duke University.
