Joshua Bernegger has a comprehensive work experience in the field of law enforcement. Joshua served as the Chief of Police at the Watertown Police Department since January 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Acting Chief of Police from March 2019 to January 2021 at the same department. Before joining the Watertown Police Department, they worked at the Naugatuck Police Department as the Deputy Chief of Police from August 2010 to March 2019.
Joshua Bernegger completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University, where they attended from 1991 to 1995. Joshua later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Leadership from Post University, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, they also participated in the FBI National Academy's Session 255, earning a degree in Organizational Leadership.
