Patrick McAuley has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in human resources. Patrick currently holds the position of Head of HR at Waterways Ireland, starting in April 2022. Patrick McAuley completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Strathclyde Business School in the years 2000 to 2004. Patrick then pursued further education in Human Resources Management and Services, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel & Development as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Personnel & Development from CIPD Qualifications between 2004 and 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Patrick has obtained several certifications. In 2016, they obtained the Advanced Award in Organisation Design & Development from CIPD. In 2015, they completed PRINCE2™ Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training from AXELOS Global Best Practice. In 2012, they obtained the National Employment & Workplace Mediation Certificate from Globis Mediation Group. In 2010, they achieved the NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from NEBOSH. Also, in the same year, they became a Chartered Member of CIPD.
