Patrick McAuley

Patrick McAuley has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in human resources. Patrick currently holds the position of Head of HR at Waterways Ireland, starting in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Economic Development Manager at The Labour Relations Agency from July 2021 to April 2022. From June 2016 to July 2021, Patrick served as an Employment Relations Manager at the same organization. Before that, they worked as an HR Project Manager at NI Public Services Ombudsman from August 2014 to February 2016. Patrick gained experience as a Conciliation Officer at Labour Relations Agency from February 2011 to August 2014. Patrick also held the role of HR Manager at Middletown Centre for Autism from September 2008 to February 2011. Patrick started their career in HR at Sandvik as an HR Advisor in March 2008. Prior to that, they worked as an HR Project Officer at NI Education and Skills Authority Implementation Team from June 2006 to March 2008. Patrick's first role in HR was as an HR Advisor at CCEA from February 2005 to June 2006, where they gained expertise in absence management, recruitment and selection, resourcing, and reporting, including HR software implementation.

Patrick McAuley completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Strathclyde Business School in the years 2000 to 2004. Patrick then pursued further education in Human Resources Management and Services, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel & Development as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Personnel & Development from CIPD Qualifications between 2004 and 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Patrick has obtained several certifications. In 2016, they obtained the Advanced Award in Organisation Design & Development from CIPD. In 2015, they completed PRINCE2™ Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training from AXELOS Global Best Practice. In 2012, they obtained the National Employment & Workplace Mediation Certificate from Globis Mediation Group. In 2010, they achieved the NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from NEBOSH. Also, in the same year, they became a Chartered Member of CIPD.
