Director of Sales at Watt Fuel Cell

Bob joined WATT Fuel Cell as Director of Sales with a 20+ year career in sales and sales leadership in the energy and telecommunications industries. He came to WATT with extensive experience in selling technology-based solutions to both federal and state agencies and managing large-scale strategic customer engagements. So far at WATT, Bob has been instrumental in the company’s transition into commercialization by expanding the number of customer channels WATT serves, targeting high volume and profitable deployments.

Prior to joining WATT, Bob held several business development positions across the United States, including Siemen’s where he was responsible for the sale of transmission planning/distribution software and power industry consulting services to the utility industry, consistently achieving objectives and maintaining a pipeline to support sales of $11M per year. Bob was involved with solution selling across the Siemens business units, negotiating with clients, product marketing, pricing strategies and proposal development.

He also served as General Manager of Government Sales, Federal and Northeast State Government at United Technologies in their fuel cell division. Bob directed Government growth and market expansion in the U.S., lead a cross-functional team in sales and business development for government markets, managed business requirements and supported goals for strategic business planning.

At Plug Power, Bob was Director of Sales in North America for both commercial and government channels. In this position, he led the sale of fuel cell technology, exceeding 100% quota and earning the reputation as an industry leader in the sale of fuel cells for backup applications.

Before his tenure at Plug Power, Bob served as Sales Vice President, State Government for WilTel Communications, overseeing the start-up and development of the state government division. He also held positions at AT&T, including Director of Sales Operations: New York State/New York City Government, where he increased sales of $8M in 1997 to more than $100M annually in 2003. Bob has more than 20+ years of experience in the telecom industry.
