John F. DeBoever

John F. DeBoever has 40 years of international business development and engineering experience in the energy storage industry, ranging from off-grid industrial applications to grid-tied utility applications across five continents. John was previously the VP Global Sales at UET. At UET John managed the early stage market adoption of vanadium redox flow battery systems, developed pilot evaluation projects with early customers, developed multiple industrial strategic partnerships, and worked with various government programs like the USTDA and CEC for the funding of early energy storage deployments.

John is leveraging his in-depth engineering background of advanced energy storage technologies, power conversion systems, and of large energy storage project deployments related to the utility, microgrids and C&I markets. John pioneered battery-based PV hybrid systems, and developed an extensive background in both domestic and international marketing, strategic program development and management.

At Trojan Batteries, John was the Global Technical Director and major contributor to the strategy and implementation of the newly created Trojan Renewable Energy division. Previously, John led the domestic and international business development team at SunWize Technologies, a subsidiary of Mitsui Corp based in New York State. John worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 14 years working as the Director of International Field Sales, based in Europe covering the EMEA region, and including 5 years in a Westinghouse subsidiary in Africa. John has worked on multi-million programs across multiple continents with global EPCs dedicated to energy system deployment in the utility, mining and oil & gas industries.

Born a Belgian citizen in Africa, John moved to Europe and then relocated to the US in 2006. He is now a US citizen. John has an MSEE from UC Louvain in Belgium with additional background in power electronics engineering.
