Kirk Johnson has a diverse and extensive work experience. Kirk started their career at the Remsen-Union Community School Foundation in 2005, where they served as the Middle/High School Principal until 2008. Kirk then moved on to the Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District, where they held the position of High School Principal from 2008 to 2011. Following this, they joined the Waukee Community School District and held various roles, including High School Principal from 2011 to 2016, Associate Superintendent from 2016 to 2019, and currently, they serve as the Chief Operating Officer. In addition to their roles in the education sector, they have also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Northwestern College since 2018.
Kirk Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Teacher Education, which they obtained from Northwestern College in the years 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2001 to 2005. Finally, Kirk attended Iowa State University from 2005 to 2007, where they earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies (Superintendency) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.
