Melissa Collins-Porter

Melissa Collins-Porter is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at WAVE Therapy since August 2025, following a long tenure at MiraCosta College from January 2003 to August 2025, where Melissa served as a Mental Health Counselor (Trainee) and Associate Faculty, teaching film studies and contributing to faculty hiring and professional development. Melissa was also a Board Member at Beacons North County from June 2021 to August 2024, supporting the governance of a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Previous work includes freelance video editing and faculty roles at San Diego State University. Melissa holds a B.A. in Communication and Theater from UC San Diego, an M.A. in Film/Cinema/Video Studies from San Diego State University, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University.
