D. Patrick O'Neal

D. Patrick O'Neal has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies. D. Patrick served as the Chief Technology Officer at Wavegate Corporation, where they were responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Wavegate's patented StimuLux(TM) technology. This technology utilized optical feedback to track the motion of the spinal cord and provide adaptive spinal cord stimulation, ensuring consistent dosing throughout a user's daily activities.

Before that, O'Neal worked at Louisiana Tech University as the Dan and Linda Reneau Endowed Associate Professor. During their tenure, they focused on promoting early-stage medical device development and conducted research on subjects such as electro-optics instrumentation, basic cancer and disease research, and clinical sensing and therapeutics. D. Patrick'spublished work in these areas received over 4000 external citations, showcasing their expertise and contributions to the field.

Prior to joining Louisiana Tech University, O'Neal worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Nanospectra Biosciences Inc. from 2002 to 2005.

D. Patrick O'Neal has a strong educational background in biomedical engineering. D. Patrick obtained their first bachelor's degree in this field from Louisiana Tech University between 1990 and 1994. D. Patrick then pursued further education at Ambassador University from 1994 to 1996, earning another bachelor's degree in General Studies. Following this, they attended Texas A&M University from 1996 to 2001, where they successfully achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
