Gissela Smith

Gissela Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in internal auditing and risk management. Currently serving as the Director of Internal Audit, Asset Protection & ERM at Wawa, Inc. since May 2023, Gissela previously held the role of Senior Director, Internal Audit & Chief Audit Executive at Under Armour from August 2006 to June 2023. In that capacity, Gissela led annual risk assessments and developed internal audit methodologies tailored to rapid global growth. Earlier experience includes roles at Hemming Morse, LLP, where Gissela performed compliance audits and analyzed collective bargaining agreements, and at USIS, overseeing security background investigations for defense-related entities. Gissela holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of San Francisco.
