Kate Meyer, Director of Health Policy, brings more than 10 years of health policy and strategic communications experience to Waxman Strategies. Her work is rooted in the belief that policy change is core to dismantling systemic racism and establishing an equitable health care system in the United States. Kate is an expert in analyzing complex health care policies and translating them into digestible content that strengthens advocacy efforts and bolsters education campaigns.
Throughout her career, Kate has spearheaded public affairs campaigns and advised industry leaders on policy issues that impact health equity, such as prescription drug coverage and reproductive health care access. She has worked for a range of organizations, including the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, the EMAA Project, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Brookings Institution.
Most recently, Kate served as Interim Executive Director for Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF) — an organization that invests in girls who use running and education to empower themselves and their communities in Ethiopia. She also served as GGRF’s Board Chair. Kate earned a Master of Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College.
