Pepe Melendez

Pepe Melendez is a Senior Software Engineer at Waymo since January 2020, contributing to the Embedded Software and Vehicle Positioning teams. Prior to Waymo, Pepe founded the automation and electronics department at Cirotec Automation, providing industrial solutions through robotics and embedded systems. Experience also includes a role as an Embedded Systems/Firmware Engineer at Carbon Robotics, where the goal was to create an accessible robotic arm. Pepe's early career features robotics research at École Polytechnique de Montréal and internships in mechatronics, including a collaboration with Madero Equipos de Ordeño. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
