James Brock has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. James started their career as a Master Plumber at the City of Detroit - Water and Sewerage Department, where they supported maintenance functions for water supply systems and managed plumbing and piping systems in city-owned facilities. James then worked as a Plumber/Pipefitter at the Chrysler Technical Center, maintaining piping and mechanical systems and performing audits and certifications.

James later joined FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, where they held various roles including Facilities and Engineering Manager, Process Improvement Manager, and World Class Manufacturing Project Lead.
