Tara Cooper Weiss is a dedicated Library Media Specialist at Wayne Township Public Schools since August 2016, leveraging a strong ELA background to empower learners in a tech-forward environment. Previously, Tara served as a Team Leader and Teacher of English at Summit Public Schools from 2001 to July 2016, where responsibilities included facilitating communication among educators, planning professional development workshops, and developing interdisciplinary lessons. With expertise in cooperative learning and education technology, Tara also has a notable background in scholastic journalism as an award-winning yearbook adviser. Tara's educational qualifications include a pending Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration from Montclair State University, a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Education, Writing, and American Studies from Saint Elizabeth University.
Wayne Township Public Schools
The Wayne Township public school district consists of two high schools (Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills), three middle schools (Schuyler Colfax, George Washington, and Anthony Wayne), and nine elementary schools (Theunis Dey, Ryerson, Randall Carter, Pines Lake, Packanack, Lafayette, John F. Kennedy, James Fallon, and AP Terhune) and an Early Childhood Center at Preakness. These 15 schools serve more than 8,500 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
