Irene Gómez

Irene Gomez is the Telefónica Connected Open Innovation Director at Wayra. Irene has over fifteen years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Irene has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Irene started their career in 2005 as a Product Engineer at Aastra. In this role, they were responsible for new product labtest validation and commercial and presales support. Irene then moved to Telefónica Soluciones in 2006, where they became the IT Security Product Manager. In this role, they led security product/service development and deployment, and provided support to Salesforces and Market Development team.

Irene has been with Wayra since 2011. In their current role, they are responsible for managing Wayra’s portfolio of startups and working with them on their open innovation projects.

Irene Gómez has a certification from ThePowerMBA in ThePowerMBA, and their educational career includes a course in Business Design & Lean StartUp from h2i Institute, a Pragmatic Marketing Certified course in Product Management from Pragmatic Marketing, and a MARKETING and FINANCES course in Marketing from ESIC: Business & Marketing School. Irene also has a MASTER in Dirección y Gestión de la Seguridad de la Información from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and a Marketing Training course in Marketing from ESIC Business & Marketing School. Finally, they have an Ingeniera Superior de Telecomunicaciones degree in Seguridad y Telemática from Universitat Ramon Llull.
