Christopher Potthast, PMP, serves as the Vice President of Finance and Administration at Wayside Waifs since September 2022. Previously, Potthast was the CFO and VP of Administration & Finance at The Family Conservancy from July 2015 to September 2022, overseeing financial management and reporting for the board of directors. Potthast also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Rose Brooks Center Inc. from July 2010 to July 2015, with similar responsibilities in financial oversight and reporting. Earlier experience includes strategic project management roles at State Street, where Potthast advanced from Assistant Vice President to Project Manager, focusing on finance projects and mutual fund accounting. Academic credentials include an MBA from Webster University, a B.S. in Finance and German from Missouri State University, and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.

Wayside Waifs is a non-profit animal shelter in Kansas City, Missouri. Preparing pets and people for the bond of their lives. Wayside Waifs is Kansas City's largest, most comprehensive no kill pet adoption campus. For more than 75 years we have worked diligently to place homeless pets in responsible homes. Wayside Waifs also provides: pet adoption, animals rescue, behavior training and enrichment for shelter animals, shelter veterinary care, foster care, volunteer opportunities, off-leash dog park, onsite pet retail, and pet memorial services. Wayside Waifs also provides Humane Education programs for school age children, including a national violence prevention curriculum, No More Bullying! Wayside receives no government funding and relies 100% on public and private donations.
