Kathryn Mahoney

Kathryn Mahoney is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA) with extensive experience in financial management within the nonprofit sector focused on animal welfare. Currently serving as a Board Member for Shelter Animals Count since July 2023, Kathryn has held various leadership roles at Wayside Waifs, including President, Interim President, and Vice President of Finance and Administration, since September 2015. Previously, Kathryn was the Board Treasurer for the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators from January 2016 to November 2021 and served as Vice President of Finance and Administration at Houston SPCA from September 2008 to August 2015. Early career experience includes working as a Senior Auditor at BKD CPAs & Advisors from June 2005 to August 2008. Kathryn holds a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from Sam Houston State University, earned in 2005.
