Kelvin Cheng

Kelvin Cheng is a Machine Learning Engineer at Wayve since August 2025, previously serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Rivian from March 2023 to August 2025. Prior experience includes a position as a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from September 2020 to March 2023, and two roles at Rivian, one as an Engineering Intern focusing on ADAS Algorithms Hardware Acceleration in summer 2022, and another as a Research Intern in Computer Vision and Perception at ABB in summer 2020. Kelvin Cheng also held a Research Assistant position at Simon Fraser University from May 2018 to May 2019. Kelvin Cheng earned a PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University from September 2019 to March 2023, and holds both a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University.
