Long Chen

Long Chen is a Staff Applied Scientist at Wayve, working on the next generation of self-driving cars with end-to-end machine learning, vision-language-action (VLA) models. Prior to this, they were a Research Engineer at Lyft, focusing on data-driven planning for autonomous vehicles. They also have experience as a Research Engineer at Blue Vision Labs, working on city-scale visual maps for Augmented Reality. Long holds a Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Augmented Reality from Bournemouth University, a Master's Degree in Medical Image Computing from UCL, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Dalian University of Technology.
