Xieyuan (Francis) Zhang is a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Wayve since October 2020, specializing in perception. Previously, Zhang contributed to the "Interactive Pedestrian Simulator for Robot Social Navigation using Imitation Learning and Generative Modelling" project at Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory as a Research Assistant from February to July 2020. Zhang also held an internship at Wayve as a Software Engineer Intern from July to December 2019, focusing on robot infrastructure. Earlier experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Researcher at Tsinghua University, where a senior research project addressed the spatial distribution in proton exchange membrane fuel cells, and as a Visiting Scholar at The Ohio State University, where research involved series plugin hybrid electric trucks. Zhang holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Automotive Engineering from Tsinghua University.
