Keenan Jones is an experienced educator and leader currently serving as the Family Engagement Specialist at Wayzata Public Schools since August 2022, focusing on enhancing family-school relationships across the district. As the Founder and Executive Director of Literacy for Freedom since October 2020, Keenan has been instrumental in advocating for literacy and educational equity. Previously, Keenan worked at Hopkins Public Schools from September 2014 to August 2022 as an Innovation, Design, and Learning Specialist, contributing to team collaboration and educational innovation, and also facilitated the Hopkins Educators of Color mentorship group. Keenan's career began as a Paraprofessional and Check and Connect Mentor for at-risk students at Robbinsdale Area Schools from September 2008 to January 2013. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Literacy Education from Hamline University, a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Augsburg University, and an Associate of Arts from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
