Tom Williams

Tom Williams is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable development, particularly in the food, agriculture, and water sectors. Currently serving as Director of Food and Agriculture at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development since October 2018, Tom is responsible for guiding businesses in establishing and reporting nature- and climate-related targets. Previously held roles include Senior Director of Nature Action at the same organization, where Tom spearheaded initiatives focusing on biodiversity and corporate engagement, and Director of Water, where efforts concentrated on wastewater management and the 50L Home Coalition. Prior experience at the International Water Association included positions such as Programmes Director, Interim Executive Director, and regional leadership roles. Tom's contributions to global water issues were further enhanced by a consultancy role at the World Bank, focused on capacity building for water utilities. Tom holds an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and an MSc in Microbiology from the University of Hertfordshire.
