Chip Mitchell is an accomplished reporter with extensive experience in investigative, feature, and breaking news reporting, currently serving at WBEZ since 2006 from a bureau located in a low-income community on Chicago’s West Side. Previously, Chip worked as a Latin America reporter for various public radio outlets, newspapers, and magazines from 2003 to 2006, and founded Colombia Week, focusing on critical issues such as politics and human rights. Experience also includes editing and designing the "Connection to the Americas" newsletter, contributing to the Twin Cities Reader, and co-founding daily news shows at WORT. Chip's investigative reporting has been recognized with awards, including the Milwaukee Press Club award for best investigative report in 1995. Chip holds a B.A. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
