Octavia Peck Palmer

Octavia Peck Palmer, Ph.D., serves as the Immediate Past President and previously as President of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine since August 2023. At the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Octavia has held various key roles since July 2008, including Vice Chair of Health Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion in the Department of Pathology, Associate Professor of Pathology, and Medical Director of the Automated Testing Laboratories. Additionally, Octavia has been the Division Director of Clinical Chemistry at UPMC since January 2017 and was the Chief Clinical Chemistry Fellow at Washington University School of Medicine from May 2007 to July 2008. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physiology from the Medical University of South Carolina, a BS in Biology from Columbia College, and multiple certificates from the University of Pittsburgh in Clinical Research and Healthcare Leadership.
