Tara Coffin

Tara Coffin is a seasoned professional currently serving as Principal Chair and Regulatory Chair at WCG since April 2019, where responsibilities include managing IRB meetings and ensuring compliance with ethical standards in human subject research. With a strong background in education, Tara has held adjunct lecturer and professor positions at institutions such as Bastyr University, Lake Washington Institute of Technology, and the University of Puget Sound, while also providing childbirth education as a Certified Childbirth Educator at Parent Trust for Washington Children. Previous experience at the University of Washington includes roles as a Research Scientist and Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on genetic testing accessibility and educational technology perceptions. Tara holds a PhD in Public Health Genetics and a Master's in Education from the University of Washington, along with a BA in Science, Technology & Society and Comparative Religion from the University of Puget Sound.
