Phillip Emmerich

Phillip Emmerich, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Phillip began their career as an Accountant at the University of California, where they oversaw financial accounts and coordinated check runs. Phillip then worked at Deloitte as a Senior Tax Consultant, specializing in venture capital and high net worth individuals, and became a leader in the firm's paperless initiative. After that, Phillip joined OUM as a Tax Senior Consultant, managing and directing staff and focusing on minimizing clients' tax burdens. Phillip then transitioned to Syntropy as an Accountant, reconciling daily transactions and overseeing payroll and budgeted forecasts. At Credit Karma, they served as a Senior/Staff Accounting Analyst, maintaining bank accounts and assisting with month-end closing activities. Phillip subsequently became a Substitute Teacher at the San Francisco Unified School District, maintaining discipline in the classroom and administering lesson plans. Phillip then joined the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau as a Lead Financial Services Analyst, where they executed a software conversion project and utilized SQL for complex data calculations. Phillip later moved to Off the Grid as a Senior Finance Manager, centralizing data sets, designing reports, and forecasting expenses. Currently, Phillip holds the position of Director of Finance at the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California, where they manage the accounting department and ensures the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reporting.

Phillip Emmerich, CPA obtained a Certificate in Data Analytics from General Assembly in 2022. Prior to that, they earned a degree in Business Economics with a focus on Accounting from UC Santa Barbara, which they completed from 2004 to 2008. Phillip also holds a CPA certification from the California Board of Accountancy.
