Brent Stevens has extensive experience in film criticism and academia. Since May 2008, Brent has served as the Director of the Writing Center at Hollins University. Concurrently, Brent has worked as a film critic for WSLQ/Q99 and News/Talk 960 WFIR since January 2019, providing interviews and producing commercials for local film showings at The Grandin Theatre. Additionally, Brent has been a film critic for WDBJ7 since September 2017, previewing upcoming films on the local news program 7@4. Academically, Brent holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Contemporary American Film and Fiction from the University of South Carolina, a Master's degree in Liberal Arts with a focus on Film/Cinema/Video Studies from Hollins University, and a Bachelor's degree in English and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
