Haitao Zhao

Haitao (Sean) Zhao is an experienced Optics Scientist currently affiliated with WDI Wise Device Inc. since April 2017, having progressed from Jr. Optics Scientist to the current title. Prior to this role, Haitao served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto from June 2015 to March 2017 and gained extensive hands-on experience as a Student Technician and Research Assistant at the University of Manitoba from August 2009 to April 2015. Notable contributions include the development of high-power laser systems, advanced techniques for loss characterization in laser systems, and characterization of thermal lensing in laser media. Haitao earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Laser and Optical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2013.
