Dr. Maureen Hatfield

Dr. Maureen Hatfield serves as the Director of Specialized Services at Acero Schools, overseeing a special education department that supports over 7,000 students in Chicago since October 2018. In August 2023, Dr. Hatfield became the owner of We Rock the Spectrum Kid's Gym and previously held the position of Senior Director of Special Education at ACCEL Schools, advocating for school choice and addressing educational inequities across the United States. Prior experience includes roles as an Assistant Principal and Special Education Case Manager at UNO Charter School Network, and a self-contained middle school educator at Kankakee School District #111. Dr. Hatfield's educational background includes a Doctor of Education in Education Leadership and Policy from Northern Illinois University and various degrees in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, and Sociology from other institutions.
