Justin Lee has a diverse range of work experience that spans multiple industries. Justin began their career as a Web Developer at Accevia in 2010, where they honed their skills in web development. Justin then worked as a Marketing and Business Development Intern at Rural Returns, where they researched the U.S. rice market and developed marketing strategies. In 2011, Justin served as a Research Scholar at Hawaii Pacific Health, gaining valuable experience in research.
Justin then took on the role of Gumball Challenge Co-Director at Gumball Capital, where they directed a social entrepreneurship challenge. Justin began their undergraduate studies at Stanford University in 2011, also working as a Residential Computer Consultant during this time. In 2012, they worked as a CURIS Designer and Researcher, redesigning and prototyping a cognitive aid for medical crises situations. Justin also co-authored a paper for the Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) Conference.
During their time at Stanford, Justin also served as a Course Assistant and CS106 Section Leader. In 2013, they interned at LinkedIn as a Web Developer Intern, working on front-end development and building features to increase user engagement. Justin then spent the summer of 2014 as a Software Engineering Intern at Twitter, where they developed a Django app for music partners and conducted user testing to improve interface performance.
In 2015, Justin joined Lightspeed Venture Partners as a Summer Fellow, where they founded, designed, and developed Dishful.co, a shared economy marketplace for home-cooked meals. Justin gained exposure to Lean Startup principles, rapid prototyping, and VC pitches. In the same year, they also worked at Wealthfront as a Backend Engineer and later transitioned to the role of iOS Engineer.
Throughout their career, Justin has gained experience in various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, including Backbone.js, Rails, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Java, Dust, and REST.li backend. Justin has also demonstrated strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, as well as a passion for entrepreneurship and technology.
Justin Lee completed their high school education at Punahou School from 1996 to 2009. Justin then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, with a focus on Biocomputation, from Stanford University, graduating in 2013. Continuing their studies at Stanford, Justin obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction from 2013 to 2015.
