Lewis Commons

Lewis Commons is an experienced design engineer with a strong background in hardware design and development. Currently employed at Basis since April 2023, Lewis has contributed to the design of the Basis Smart Panel, overseeing parts and assemblies from conception to production. Prior experience includes roles at Zwift, where Lewis developed mechanical and electro-mechanical components, and Converge, leading the engineering development of Signal Hardware. Lewis's tenure as Technology Lead at Andiamo resulted in the introduction of 3D printed ankle-foot orthoses to the NHS, significantly reducing lead time. Additional roles in product development and engineering at SmartSpace Workplace Solutions, Dynamic Composites, SHOTOVER Camera Systems, and Pratt & Whitney have provided diverse experience across various industries. Lewis holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
