Shaina "Shai" Card has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2014, they worked as a Cashier at the Damascene Book Cellar until 2016. In the same year, they also worked as a Childcare Provider at Bugbee Children's Center from January to May, and later at Colorado Athletic Club from September 2016 to August 2017. In 2016, they also worked as a Customer Service Representative at King Soopers/City Market from August to November, and as a Childcare Teacher at Kiddie Academy from October 2016 to June 2017.

In 2017, Shai became a Social Work Intern at Denver Human Services: Employment First from August 2017 to May 2018. Concurrently, they were a Graduate Student at the University of Denver: Graduate School of Social Work from September 2017 to June 2019. During their graduate studies, they also served as a Graduate Research Assistant, providing research and writing assistance to Dr. Jennifer Greenfield in the area of Paid Family Leave with a focus on caregiver leave from August 2018 to June 2019.

In 2018, Shai joined The Bell Policy Center as a Master of Social Work Macro Level Intern from August 2018 to May 2019.

More recently, Shai worked at 360 Campaign Consulting as a Voter Registration Administrative Assistant in 2020. Currently, they hold the role of Membership & Community Experience Coordinator at Luminary, starting in August 2021.

Shaina "Shai" Card has a strong education background in the field of social work. Shaina "Shai" obtained a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Denver's Graduate School of Social Work from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta, specializing in Child and Family Studies, from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their degrees, Shaina has obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2019, they completed the Humphreys Institute for Political Social Work's Campaign School for Social Work at the University of Connecticut. In 2018, they received training in Human Trafficking from Mile High United Way. Shaina also gained expertise in poverty-related issues through the Bridges Out of Poverty Training with Jodi Pfarr offered by aha! Process in 2017. Furthermore, they hold a certification in Online CPR/AED and First Aid Combo Course from the American Red Cross, which they obtained in September 2017.
