Adrian Mizzi

Adrian Mizzi is the Co-Founder & CTO at Weavr.io. Prior to Weavr, Adrian was a PHD student at the University of Malta from October 2015 to September 2019. Adrian's thesis was titled "Macroprogramming using an Embedded DSL Approach" and developed a model for programming heterogeneous systems using a single program, which they called a macroprogram. The higher level of abstraction allows applications to be described at the macro-level. The techniques were applied to different domains including Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain Smart Contracts.

From April 2004 to August 2018, Adrian was a Consultant at Ixaris Systems Ltd. Adrian was the Lead Developer on an outsourced project implementing an Asynchronous Transaction Engine based on Java and MySQL technologies. Adrian also served as Executive IT from June 2001 to March 2004 and as Director / Managing Director from October 2010 to August 2018. Prior to Ixaris, Adrian was a Java Developer at HOB Software Ltd from January 2000 to December 2001.

Adrian Mizzi received their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Malta. Adrian also holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the same school.
