Stacey Lorton, JD, CRCM has a diverse work experience spanning from 1993 to 2018. Stacey began their career as an Administrative Assistant to the President at Chelated Minerals Corporation and later worked as a Website Developer/Market Researcher at Chelated Minerals International. In 1999, they served as the Production Manager at K-UTE Student Radio, where they hosted a radio program and managed programming for unmanned station hours.
From 2000 to 2003, Stacey worked as an Administrative Officer for Policy & Development at UHEAA, disseminating law and policy changes to clients and coordinating training forums. Stacey then joined the Utah Attorney General's Office as a Law Clerk, where they conducted research, drafted briefs, and participated in hearings.
In 2007, Stacey became the Director of Compliance & Risk Mitigation at UHEAA, managing compliance, legal, and contract-related functions. Stacey also supervised a team and served as the lead contact for internal control audits. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Policy & Procedure Associate at Discover Financial Services, organizing and developing technical specifications for publication.
Stacey's experience in the banking industry includes roles such as Senior Vice President, Compliance Officer at First National Bank of Layton, Compliance Coordinator at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, and Vice President Compliance at WebBank. In these positions, they developed policies and procedures, ensured compliance with state and federal regulations, and managed risk.
At WebBank, Stacey also served as the Strategic Partner Compliance Manager and Compliance Systems Manager, overseeing compliance systems, performing monitoring and testing, and managing the annual audit. Stacey was additionally responsible for training employees on program and compliance management systems and processes.
Throughout their career, Stacey has demonstrated strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills while maintaining compliance and managing risk for various organizations.
Stacey Lorton, JD, CRCM, obtained a Juris Doctorate degree in Law from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2006. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Utah in 2000. In addition to their formal education, Stacey has obtained various certifications including Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager from the American Bankers Association in 2015, Six Sigma Champion Certified and Six Sigma Lean Black Belt Professional from the Management and Strategy Institute in 2015, and School of Mortgage Servicing from the Mortgage Bankers Association in 2014 among others.
