Robert Garvin

EVP External Affairs at WEC Energy Group

Robert “Bert” Garvin was appointed executive vice president – external affairs in June 2015.

Garvin previously served as senior vice president – external affairs for Wisconsin Energy Corporation and its utility subsidiary, We Energies. He has overall responsibility for the company’s legislative and regulatory affairs at the federal, state and local levels.

Prior to joining the Wisconsin Energy leadership team in April 2011, Garvin served as vice president and general counsel of American Transmission Co.

Before joining American Transmission Co., Garvin was vice president - regulatory affairs for NextEra Energy Resources, the largest generator of wind and solar power in North America and subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc., Juno Beach, Florida.

Previously, he was a member of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW), also serving as a director of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and chairing the association’s nuclear waste subcommittee.

Garvin also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and is an Iraq war veteran.

Earlier in his career, Garvin was manager – legal and government affairs for Wisconsin Public Power, Inc., of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Garvin holds Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Garvin serves on the board of directors of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce and board of trustees of the War Memorial Center.
