Joan Freese

Joan Freese has over 25 years of experience in educational media and content development. Joan began their career as a Content Writer at The Learning Company in 1996. In 2000, they became Content Manager at Learning Outfitters. In 2001, they moved to Plato Learning where they served as Senior Writer for four years. From 2005 to 2015, they were with Twin Cities PBS, first as Senior Interactive Producer for SciGIrls, then as Manager of Promotion, Publication, and Web for DragonflyTV. From 2015 to 2022, Freese was Senior Director, Educational & Digital Media at TPT - Twin Cities PBS. In 2022, they began their current role as Director of Education at WEDU PBS.

Joan Freese completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Iowa in 2013. Following this, they went on to receive a Master of Education (M.Ed) from the University of Minnesota in the field of Learning Technologies from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
