John Palgut

John Palgut has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John is currently working as a Staff Engineer at Weedmaps since November 2021. Previously, they served as a Software Engineering Manager at Grio App Studio from April 2016 to April 2021. In 2012, they were the Lead Developer at Marie Antoinette's Gluten-Free Bake Shoppe, where they rebuilt the company website and collaborated on the online business strategy. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Lead Developer at Pomegranate Lab, managing and implementing code for webapps designed for teachers and ensuring design compliance. John also has experience as CTO & Co-Founder at Normandy Labs, LLC., where they published Android applications and developed contract apps for specific companies. Additionally, they co-founded Sisasa Inc. in 2013 and led the development team to create a prototype mobile banking app. Before that, they worked as a Software Developer at Ford Motor Company from 2010 to 2012, focusing on testing and developing car connected Android apps while adhering to industry standards. Prior to that, they started their career as an IT Support Technician at Plymouth District Library from November 2008 to March 2010.

John Palgut attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, they have also completed several certifications in the field of deep learning and machine learning from Coursera. These certifications include the Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning. John Palgut obtained these certifications between January 2019 and March 2019.
