Basimah Syed

Basimah Syed has extensive work experience in various roles within the software industry. Basimah is currently working as the Director of Product Management - Developer Experience at Galvanize, a Diligent brand, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Manager, Product Content at the same company, where they managed two teams and scaled the development of Product Solutions. Before joining Galvanize, Basimah worked as a Product Manager at STAT Search Analytics, where they managed the development and marketing of features for a web application. Basimah also worked at Destiny Solutions Inc. as a Project Manager/Business Analyst/CSAM, where they successfully managed complex implementation projects at major schools. In addition, they have held roles such as QA Team Lead/Product Analyst at Frontline, Team Lead QA and Senior Quality Assurance Analyst at Merrill Lynch, Product Escalation Engineer at Quest Software, QA Analyst at MLCSI and Finansia, and Software Engineer at Central Depository Company. Throughout their career, Basimah has demonstrated strong project management skills, a focus on product strategy and roadmap development, and a commitment to team management and development.

Basimah Syed completed their education in a chronological order. Basimah obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing from The University of Huddersfield between 1999 and 2002. During the same years, they also pursued a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Computer Science at the Karachi Institute of Information Technology. Later, between 2003 and 2006, Basimah completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on HR from the Institute of Business Management. Finally, in 2016 and 2017, they studied Project Management at the University of Toronto, earning a degree in the same field.
