Herajeng Gustiayu has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Herajeng began their career as an Illustrator at Art Paper Publishing House, where they collaborated on the creation of watercolor sketches for a book series on Indonesian historical architecture. Herajeng then worked as a Landscape Design Consultant at the Department of Public Works before transitioning into urban design as an Urban Design Consultant at Sidomukti Urban Planning & Design Consultant. Herajeng developed the Masterplan and Urban Design Guidelines for a project in Riau, Indonesia during this time.
In 2008, Herajeng joined DPC Design Pte Ltd as a Senior Studio Artist & Studio Manager, where they specialized in designing environmental graphics and signage for 5-star hotels. After their time at DPC Design, they briefly worked as a Content Writer for Kompas Travel, providing travel articles for the website.
In 2010, they embarked on their own ventures, establishing herself as a freelance Web Designer & Illustrator. Herajeng worked with clients to transform their marketing and informational content into visually stunning websites with seamless user experiences. During this time, they also founded The Backpacker's Notes, a travel blog aimed at inspiring Indonesian backpackers.
In 2012, Herajeng joined Wego.com, a travel meta-search engine, as a Web Designer. Over the years, they progressed to Senior Product Designer roles, first specializing in Android app design and then taking on additional responsibilities for web and native app design. Herajeng played a key role in creating user-centered solutions while collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams.
Throughout their career, Herajeng has demonstrated expertise in product design, user experience, and collaboration across different platforms and industries.
Herajeng Gustiayu completed their education in a sequential manner. From 1998 to 2001, they attended SMA Negeri 70 Jakarta, where they pursued a high school diploma. Herajeng then enrolled at Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Architecture. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at the Institut Teknologi Bandung from 2005 to 2008, earning a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Urban Planning and Design.
