Amir Maravandi, Ph.D, P.Eng, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Amir currently holds the position of Senior Stack Engineer - Team Lead at FTXT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. starting from 2023. Previously, they worked at Ballard Power Systems, where they served as a Senior Product Development Engineer in various roles, including Unitcell Team, Hardware Team, and as a Project Lead for the Audi project. Before that, they were a Project Engineer at NuWave Research Inc. and a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Etalim Inc.

Amir also gained significant expertise as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Dynamic Monitoring Technologies Corp., where they designed and analyzed prototypes of a strain monitoring system for heavy industries. Amir also selected, integrated, and commissioned electrical components, developed prototypes, and implemented the designed system.

Amir started their career as a Mechatronics R&D Engineer at Simon Fraser University, where they played a key role in designing and prototyping innovative energy harvesting systems from various sources such as suspension systems, vibrations, and ocean waves. Additionally, they were responsible for designing and building electro-mechanical test fixtures.

Amir's early career includes experience as a Project Manager at Daghighkar Alighapoo and an Automation Engineer at Sepahan Sanat Inc.

Amir Maravandi, Ph.D, P.Eng, PMP has an impressive education history that spans multiple degrees and certifications. Amir obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2020. In the same year, they also completed a PLC Programming course at the same institution.

Dr. Maravandi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering, which they earned from Simon Fraser University between 2010 and 2015. Prior to their Ph.D., they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Guilan from 2002 to 2005. Amir began their academic journey by completing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Yazd between 1998 and 2002.

In addition to their degrees, Dr. Maravandi has obtained several certifications. Amir completed the Regulation of Firms Permit to Practice Training Program offered by Engineers and Geoscientists BC in June 2023. Furthermore, they achieved the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2020. Amir also obtained certifications such as Tolerance Stacks Using GD&T and Fundamentals of GD&T based on ASME 14.9-2009 from Advantage GD&T Training and Consulting in October 2020 and December 2019, respectively. Additionally, they completed the DFMEA Methodology training at Ballard Power Systems in October 2019.
