Meytal Eran Jona

Meytal Eran Jona, Ph.D., serves as the Head of the Diversity & Inclusion Unit at the Weizmann Institute of Science since January 2017, where responsibilities also include roles as Gender Diversity and Development Advisor and Academic Consultant. From September 2019 to January 2023, Meytal chaired the GENERA Project, a European Union HORIZON 2020 initiative focused on promoting gender equality in physics across European academic and research institutions. Prior experience includes serving as Head of the Research Center at Israel Defence Intelligence from 2012 to 2016 and as a Senior Researcher in the Israel Defence Forces from 1999 to 2011. Meytal holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology from Tel Aviv University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with additional education from the University of Maryland.
