Dane Riggs

Managing Director at Weizmann Institute

Dane Riggs has extensive work experience in the field of development and fundraising. From March 2020 to August 2021, they served as the Executive Director - Southwest Region at the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science. In this role, Dane was responsible for overseeing the organization's operations and fundraising efforts in the southwestern United States.

Subsequently, Dane took on the role of Executive Director - Major Gifts from August 2021 to September 2022, where they played a key role in securing major donations to support basic science research at the Weizmann Institute. In September 2022, they were promoted to Managing Director, leading the major gifts team across the U.S. to further advance philanthropic support for the institute.

Before joining the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, Dane worked at the University of Oklahoma. Dane held various positions, including Executive Director of Development from 2018 to 2020, Director of Development from 2015 to 2018, Major Gifts Officer from 2012 to 2015, and Annual Giving Officer from 2011 to 2012.

With their extensive experience in fundraising and philanthropy, Dane has demonstrated skills in managing teams, securing major gifts, and fostering relationships with philanthropists.

Dane Riggs holds an MBA degree from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Dane also has a BBA degree from the Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma, with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Venture Management and Supply Chain Management. In addition to their formal education, Dane Riggs obtained a certification in Fundraising: How to Connect with Donors from Philanthropy University | An Educational Initiative in October 2016.
