Jimmy Smeets

Jimmy Smeets is an experienced operations leader in the steel and manufacturing industry, currently serving as the Senior Director of Operations - Energy at Welded Tube of Canada since January 2023. Prior to this role, Smeets held multiple positions at ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks Americas Ltd., including Director of Operations Canada and Plant Manager from February 2018 to January 2023. Additional experience includes serving as Plant Manager at GONVVAMA, where Smeets was involved in project management for Loudi and Chongqing from August 2015 to February 2018. Earlier roles at ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks in Senica and Genk encompassed positions from Operations Manager to Supervisor, starting from an operator role at Tailored Blanks NV in June 1999.
